Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 11am to 4pm - Arts Sampler and Gathering

Bring your families and enjoy a day at the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor. See re-enactments at the New Windsor Cantonment State Historic Site, watch as artists create, listen to music, sign up for workshops for veterans of all ages and their families.

Sponsored by Orange County Arts Council, Bellvale Community, Department of Veterans Affairs, Soldier & Family Assistance Center at the US Military Academy and Vets Center of Middletown.

Free and open to veterans, their families and the general public.

Highlights: woodcarving, stonewall building, painting, music, and activities for children.

Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 10am to 4pm - A Salute to America's Veterans: A Living Timeline of Armed Forces through American History

Walk the grounds and come face to face with history as you meet "soldiers from the past," uniformed and equipped to demonstrate how they lived and fought from the earliest days of America forward. At 2:00 PM the troops will guide you through history with formal talks and demonstrations of weapons. Explore exhibits in the Hall of Honor and around the Cantonment grounds.
